Island Family and its English Ancestry:

The book was originally written and published by
Miss Alvahn Holmes (a Farrar descendant) in 1972.
This book is a valuable history of the Farrar family that descends
from William Farrar I, the Farrar's Island emigrant.
The book is an enjoyable well written and well researched history
of the family. The book has been reviewed and accepted by
the College of Arms in England which has verified the pedigree of
William Farrar of Virginia. A letter
from the College of Arms in 1971 indicates this acceptance.
Book II: 'Some Farrar's Island Descendants': (CURRENTLY
OUT OF STOCK)).
Book II 'Some Farrar's
Island Descendants' was compiled by Miss. Alvahn Holmes in
1979 as a follow up
edition to the first book. The information
and stories in this volume were prepared and edited by Ms.
Holmes
from family histories and stories from sources Ms. Holmes felt
were accurate and reliable and for the most part referenced in
the book.
